I specifically picked a piece by England’s most profound graffiti artist, Banksy, because I believe graffiti is underrated. His work is so beautiful and full of meaning.
The design aspect is demonstrated with the child being a strong vertical and his “web status” as a strong horizontal. You can also see the use of the rule of thirds (the clothing of the kid, then the head, then the statuses.)
I find this image powerful and compelling because it’s sending us a message that society has been completely been taken over by the internet and technology. If we are not liked by strangers all over the world, then who will love us? And this is what we are teaching our kids. I believe that people need to learn how to live without technology and the internet, but everyone seems so technology bound and unwilling to change their digital habits.
