This is an illustration for my Scientific Illustration class. I thought the skeleton was uber cute, so that is what I decided to draw. The skull and the neck was the main part I was most interested in drawing, but I also put a bit of the back-bone and wing in the background. This was my first time using scratchboard and I’m undecided if I actually like the material or not. The one below was the practice on a tine 4″x4″ piece, that’s just the skull. Both methods are a rough version of cross-hatching.
Lucy Loo Wales
The Crazy Mind Behind Lucy Loo Studios ARTIST: Lucy Loo Wales I am currently attending Rochester Institute of Technology to major in Medical Illustration. I sell many products on my Etsy Shop and do commissions to make money for college on the side of working two jobs. I have always had a passion for art and I can't imagine a life without it. I am also trying to sell many of my originals in order to pay for college. Some personal things, I have a black and white cat named Rorschach who I adore along with a few fish tanks (really like 4 or 5.) I work at a shipping store and Joann Fabric and Crafts. My favorite artist is Jamie Hewlett, so obviously my favorite band is the Gorillaz. My best artwork usually comes out best after midnight for some reason. I like to be outside in the winter, the summer seems to make my depression worse. I miss volunteer work, but it's important to eat every week and pay for tuition. I'm also a bit of a scatterbrain if you haven't noticed, but I get things done quickly and efficiently and usually all at once because I am such a scatterbrain. I also have a Deviantart, Instagram, Facebook, and Youtube if anyone ever asked how to do certain things pertaining to art. Please contact me through here, any of the other sites, or through email at firstname.lastname@example.org. Thank you for reading!
