The first image is the initial under-painting of the portrait; a general outline. after that was putting in more tones, which is the second photo. The third one has a start of adding color in it, along with the last photo on the right (fourth one) that has more contrast, tone, and value. This was a process of adding and subtracting oil paint pigment with linseed oil and trying to make the hands and the face the focal point. This is 20″x16″ painting on canvas. The featured image on the top is the final product.
Lucy Loo Wales
The Crazy Mind Behind Lucy Loo Studios ARTIST: Lucy Loo Wales I am currently attending Rochester Institute of Technology to major in Medical Illustration. I sell many products on my Etsy Shop and do commissions to make money for college on the side of working two jobs. I have always had a passion for art and I can't imagine a life without it. I am also trying to sell many of my originals in order to pay for college. Some personal things, I have a black and white cat named Rorschach who I adore along with a few fish tanks (really like 4 or 5.) I work at a shipping store and Joann Fabric and Crafts. My favorite artist is Jamie Hewlett, so obviously my favorite band is the Gorillaz. My best artwork usually comes out best after midnight for some reason. I like to be outside in the winter, the summer seems to make my depression worse. I miss volunteer work, but it's important to eat every week and pay for tuition. I'm also a bit of a scatterbrain if you haven't noticed, but I get things done quickly and efficiently and usually all at once because I am such a scatterbrain. I also have a Deviantart, Instagram, Facebook, and Youtube if anyone ever asked how to do certain things pertaining to art. Please contact me through here, any of the other sites, or through email at firstname.lastname@example.org. Thank you for reading!
